Is the Marriage Preparation Programme mandatory to attend before I can make a marriage application?
It is mandatory to complete the Marriage Preparation Programme before proceeding with your marriage application if either you or your partner is below 21 years old.
If both of you are at least 21 years old, you are highly encouraged to attend the Marriage Preparation programme either before or after your marriage application. The Marriage Preparation Programme is complimentary (no fee required) and designed to support couples build a strong marriage foundation. Couples will learn skills such as communication, conflict resolution and financial planning which can be applied in their marriage. If necessary, couples can also be referred to relevant community agencies for additional support.
