If your application is unsuccessful, you should inform your school before submitting an appeal to ICA. You may then appeal the decision by writing in to ICA_STP1@ica.gov.sg (IHL,FSS, GOV, ITE); or ICA_STP2@ica.gov.sg (PTE/KID), along with your application reference number. Each appeal will be considered on its own merits. The general processing time for appeal cases is about four weeks and the outcome of the appeal will be made known to both the school and you.

Upon issuance of a Student's pass, your Dependant's Pass will be automatically cancelled.

Your dependants will be eligible to apply for Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) if you are a Student's Pass holder studying in Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL).

For STP holders who are required to complete formalities at ICA, you should receive the email within 30 minutes after the completion of formalities. If you did not receive the email after 30 minutes: 

• Check the spam or junk folder of your email account
• Ensure that your email inbox folder is not full
• Ensure that you have an active internet connection on your device

For STP holders who had their biometrics enrolled at the education institute which they are studying at, you will receive the email no more than seven (7) working days from the date of your enrolment.

You may view your registered local residential address on the SingPass App (My Profile > Personal) or MyICA online portal (MyProfile) or on the digital Student's Pass downloaded from FileSG (if you are issued with one).

You must be accepted for admission into a full-time course by a recognised education institution in Singapore to apply for renewal of your Student's Pass. You may renew your Student's Pass online using the e-Service.

The validity period is shown on your Student's Pass.Those issued with physical STP cards can verify the validity of their STP here.

Foreigners who are holding a valid DP, LTVP or IEO and are enrolled in full-time courses at EduTrust-certified Private Education Institutions (PEIs) may apply for a Student's Pass to complete their course with the PEI when their existing passes expire. A Student's Pass will not be issued to foreigners enrolled in PEIs that are not EduTrust-certified.For more information on Private Education-related matters, please visit the CPE website.

Upon course completion, students will have to cancel their Student's Pass (STP) and surrender any physical STP card that was issued to them for cancellation to ICA. Upon cancellation of their STP, they may be granted a short-term visit pass to stay in Singapore (up to 89 days).

If you are studying in an Institute of Higher Learning (IHL) and wish to have a longer period of stay to look for jobs upon completion of your course, you may apply for a one-year (non-renewable) long term visit pass (LTVP).

Under Regulation 8(5)(c) of the Immigration Regulations, you are required to report the loss of your Student's Pass (STP) card to ICA within seven (7) days of knowledge of the loss and apply for a replacement Student's Pass.

Student's Pass (STP) holders are required to update your passport details with ICA upon issuance of your new travel document. Students seeking to update their sex registered with ICA will have to provide local medical certification (MER).
