Is there any financial assistance for families who are unable to afford child care fees even after the Basic and Additional Subsidies?
Low income families, who face difficult family situations and cannot afford to pay child care fees, even after receiving child care subsidies, can apply for financial assistance. They can also apply for a one-time grant to pay for the initial costs of enrolling a child in the centre.
To qualify, the child must be a Singapore Citizen, and enrolled in an affordable childcare centre. The mother (or father, if single parent) must be working at least 56 hours per month, or have valid reasons for not working, such as being on medical leave, is certified as a full-time caregiver for a dependent or is looking for work. Relevant supporting documents should be submitted.
Eligible families may apply through the childcare centre.
For more information, please approach the childcare centre which your child is enrolled to.
