- KidSTART will progressively expand nationwide from 2023. For regions where KidSTART is not available yet, there are existing programmes and services supporting early childhood development available to parents with young children. These include free childhood immunisations, well-being checks and learning support programmes in the pre-schools. There are also various pre-school subsidies to help low-income parents defray the cost of pre-school. Families can also approach relevant social service agencies, such as the Social Service Offices if they require social assistance.
How are the regions for KidSTART selected?
KidSTART has been piloted in Bukit Merah, Kreta Ayer, Boon Lay, Taman Jurong and Geylang Serai. These areas provide some coverage across the country that will allow us to test out the implementation of the system with different partners. It will also allow us to tap on the unique make-up and resources available to support children from low-income families in the different local communities. Over the next three years, ECDA will expand KidSTART to more regions. Priority will be given to regions where the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) supports families in rental blocks through the Community Link (ComLink) initiative, such as Kembangan-Chai Chee and Marsiling. Together, ComLink and KidSTART will provide stronger social support to these families and their children. How can one volunteer with KidSTART?

GROWING TOGETHER with KidSTART is a relationship-based giving initiative that aims to deepen partnerships between the community and Government in giving children on the KidSTART programme a good start in life.
GROWING TOGETHER with KidSTART provides a more systematic way for corporates and individuals to foster deeper partnerships with KidSTART children and families, and the community. Contributions from partners go towards supporting a KidSTART child in these ways:

2. Fresh food produce packs which include fresh fruits and vegetables.
3. Essential items such as diapers, milk powder and transportation.
They can also partner KidSTART through regular service volunteering. Interested corporates or individuals can approach ComChest to provide regular contributions to KidSTART children. Community partners can also choose to volunteer regularly to support the KidSTART families.
