Why do I have to submit my local qualifications in OpenCerts format (i.e. digital certificates)?
The submission of digital certificates will ensure that the qualifications submitted for the applications are in order. Each digital certificate will have a unique cryptographic proof embedded within, which allows for secure verification of the certificate. Requiring applicants to submit digital certificates helps to ensure that qualifications submitted to ECDA are authentic (i.e. not tampered with). Please refer to more information on OpenCerts [here].
Can educators add in external courses via ONE@ECDA as part of their Continuing Professional Development (CPD)?
Educators can update their Continuing Professional Development Portfolio with external courses, or Professional Development activities organized by their organization if registration was not done via One@ECDA.How do I apply for the ECDA Training Award?

What kind of funding is available for the courses?
The SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) provides Singaporeans and Permanent Residents with subsidies for programmes accredited under the Singapore Skills Framework. Singaporeans and Permanent Residents also enjoy subsidised fees for programmes offered by the National Institute of Early Childhood Development (NIEC). For information on programmes fees, please contact the course provider(s).I would like to embark on the part-time Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education – Teaching (DECCE-T) at the local Polytechnic but I do not have 5 GCE ‘O’ level credits. What can I do?
Applicants who possess a Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education (CECCE) or WSQ Advanced Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education (ACECCE) and a credit in GCE ‘O’ level English (or acceptable alternatives) can apply to the DECCE-T programme offered by the National Institute of Early Childhood Development (NIEC).
Applicants will be subjected to NIEC’s further assessment for course eligibility. For more details on course content and application procedures, please refer to NIEC’s website.
Is there a list of Degrees which ECDA recognises?
ECDA does not accredit nor recognise early childhood degree or master programmes, as the highest qualification required to be certified as a preschool teacher in Singapore is the Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education - Teaching or WSQ Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education or equivalent.Can I work part-time in any of the preschools as a trial to find out if I am suitable to be a preschool teacher?

Applications for teacher certification can be submitted to the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) through the childcare centre/kindergarten at which you are currently employed.What are the requirements for teacher certification?
In order to be certified by ECDA, applicants must meet the professional, academic and language requirements for the respective certification levels. Details of the requirements can be found [here].
For applicants with foreign qualifications, their qualifications must be assessed as equivalent or exceeding ECDA’s requirements for teacher certification.
I have a foreign Early Childhood qualification. I am not sure if my qualification meets the requirements for teacher certification.
You may make use of the [self-assessment tool] to assess if your early childhood qualifications is sufficiently aligned to our ECDA-approved early childhood programme. Please note that the results of the self-assessment may not reflect the actual outcome of the teacher certification application. An application for teacher certification would still have to be submitted through ONE@ECDA system for ECDA's assessment.

To retrieve a copy of your LON, kindly login to ONE@ECDA under Individual login. From the menu, select “My Profile – Documents”. Scroll down to Letter of Notification (LON) section to locate the LON copy.
