How do I download and set up my Singpass app?

If you're having trouble registering or logging in to Singpass, here are some common issues and solutions:

Steps to download and set up my Singpass app

Note: If you are a Singpass Foreign User Account holder, use this guide instead.

  1. Download the Singpass app from the official app stores:

    • Official app stores:

      • Always check that the developer is Government Technology Agency before you download the app.

      • Do not download government apps from third-party websites as you could infect your device with malware.

  2. Launch the Singpass app

    • Read the Terms & Privacy statement and tap “I Acknowledge”.

  3. Log in to your Singpass account

    Enter your Singpass ID and password.
    Your Singpass ID is your NRIC/FIN by default. If you forgot what it is, you can click here to retrieve it.

      • Don’t have a Singpass account? You can click here to register.

      Singpass Foreign Account (SFA) user? Click here and follow the instructions in the link.

  4. Verify your identity

    • If you have an existing Singpass app and are setting up your Singpass app on a another device, you may proceed with the app-to-app setup flow

      • This would only require scanning the Singpass QR code, and bluetooth enabled on both old and new devices

    • For local users with a mobile number registered with Singpass:

      • Enter the SMS One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your mobile number.

      • Perform a face scan enabled by Singpass Face Verification to verify your identity.

    • For local users without a mobile number registered with Singpass:

      • A one-time PIN will be sent to your registered address

      • Enter the one-time PIN to verify your identity

    • For overseas users:

      • Perform a face scan enabled by Singpass Face Verification to verify your identity.

      • If you have deactivated your phone’s front-facing camera and would prefer not to turn it on for Singpass Face Verification, you can request for a PIN mailer instead. Click here to learn more.

  5. Check and confirm your identity details

    • Read the details, select the checkboxes and tap on "Continue".

  6. Set up biometric authentication (optional)

    • Depending on the authentication function available on your smartphone, you may choose to enable biometric authentication instead of typing your app passcode (e.g. fingerprint, face, etc.).

  7. Complete the setup

    • Follow the remaining instructions to enable notifications (if preferred) and learn how to log in using the Singpass app.

Your Singpass app is now ready for use

  • Try logging in to a service using your Singpass app by tapping or scanning the QR code.

  • You can also use the Digital IC on your app at government counters.
