How to set up Singpass app with your previous device?

You can now set up your Singpass app on a new device quickly and securely without SMS OTP or Face Verification. The new App-to-App setup uses Bluetooth + QR code and your existing active Singpass app to complete the setup.
What do I need before I can use App-to-App setup?
1. Make sure you still have your previous device with the Singpass app installed
2. Download the Singpass app on your new device
3. Both devices must have the Singpass app on version 25.4.0 or above
4. Make sure you have Bluetooth turned on for both devices
5. You will also need your previous 6-digit Singpass app passcode

1. Log in to Singpass on your new device
Open the Singpass app on your new device.
Log in using your Singpass ID and password.
If you’re an existing Singpass app user, you’ll be prompted to use App-to-App Setup.
2. Enable Bluetooth (if prompted)
The app will check whether Bluetooth is turned on.
If it’s off, you’ll see a pop-up prompting you to:
Turn on Bluetooth in device settings, or
Use your quick settings panel to toggle Bluetooth.
Once enabled, return to the app to continue.
3. Scan QR code with your previous device
A QR code will appear on your new device.
On your previous device, open the Singpass app and scan the QR code.
Keep both devices close together for the setup to work seamlessly.
4. Approve the setup on your previous device
On your previous device, you’ll see a request to approve the setup.
Tap Approve to continue.
5. Confirm with your 6-digit Singpass app passcode
On your new device, enter the 6-digit Singpass app passcode you use on your previous device.
This step confirms it’s really you.
6. Complete setup
Confirm your details by ticking the checkboxes.
You can also choose to reuse your app passcode from your previous device, and enable biometrics authentication.
Your Singpass app will be ready for use on your new device.
You can now log in with your biometrics or passcode as usual.
Note: Once you have successfully set up your Singpass app on the new device, the app on the previous device is automatically deactivated, ensuring that there is only one copy of your credentials.

Commonly asked questions
Question: I have enabled my Bluetooth, but the devices are not connected. What can I do?
Answer: Bluetooth is used to check that both devices are close together . Check that Bluetooth permission is enabled. Otherwise, a pop-up will appear, prompting you to enable Bluetooth. You may also enable Bluetooth in your device settings (refer to Table 3). If the Bluetooth error persists, you may continue setting up the Singpass app using alternative methods such as SMS OTP and Singpass Face Verification.
