- No. There is no GAT or general academic selection tests for CHS DSA process. This has been the case since 2017. However, specific DSA category may have its own selection test for talent area, e.g. leadership interview rounds, sports trial, music audition.
If my son accept(s) CHS' offer for DSA-Sec (IP/SP-Performing Arts) / (IP/SP-Sports) based on my / his e-audition for "X" CCA, does he need to join this CCA?
Yes. All students who have accepted our DSA-Sec (IP/SP) offers in Performing Arts or Sports are committed to the development of their specified talents in the respective CCA throughout their years at CHS. To be shortlisted for any CHS DSA-Sec (IP) categories, your son must be assessed to qualify to offer HCL in IP Years 1 and 2, even though he may not be offering HCL in PSLE. For example, he should have consistently good P5 and P6 CL results that indicate he has a strong language foundation to offer HCL in Years 1 and 2.

As a successful CO applicant, what is the PSLE score required of me to be "eligible to attend the Express course based on PSLE results"?
You will be eligible for entry to CHS by DSA so long as you obtain a PSLE score that allows you to join the Express course.Does being in DSA X (e.g. MEP) potentially reduces my chances of attending other talent programmes in CHS?
In CHS, we aim to develop students holistically so long as they have the passion for learning and take the initiative to excel. Being a DSA student does not reduce your chance in being selected for other development programmes. For example, some of our DSA Mathematics students are also in our CΩERGY science talent development programme. All DSA students (including Sports DSA) have a range of opportunities to develop themselves, be it in aesthetics, bilingualism, humanities or science. All DSA students are also able to develop themselves and seize opportunities to be student leaders, be it in their respective CCAs, as Ambassadors in another area, or as part of our Student Leadership Board (e.g. as Student Councillor). DSA Academic, MEP and Leadership students can choose their CCAs after joining CHS.If my other talent(s) develop even better than my DSA talent over the course of my CHS school life, can I make a switch for talent development?
All DSA students are expected to stay with their DSA specialisation (e.g. MEP, Leadership) or CCA for at least 4 years in CHS, subject to good performance and conduct. However, we do assess individual DSA student’s progress at the end of Year 2 to help chart the students’ development. My family will not be in Singapore during the School Preference Indication phase. What should I do?
You can submit your options online during the School Preference Indication phase. Your parents can in fact ask a proxy to help you submit the form if your family is not able to do so yourself, as long as the proxy is authorised. You can download the PROXY FORM from MOE website.
You may also enquire with your primary school General Office for any queries about this, as they would also have the form and details
After I have accepted my Confirmed Offer, my family will not be in Singapore on the S1 Registration day. What should we do?
If your family is not able to make it on the S1 Registration day, you can fill in the MOE S1 Proxy Form to appoint a suitable adult to register on the day itself. You may also want to consider asking the proxy to assist with collecting materials and forms on that day. Our bookstore and uniform sales will continue over the Dec holidays until around 30 Dec, and you should have time to purchase books, materials and uniform. As we put our S1 Registration briefing materials online, you can refer to our web page for more information upon returning to Singapore
