How many online submissions can I make?You can only perform one online submission. Please think carefully before you select and submit your subject combination options.
What subject combination will I be allocated if I did not get the combination I opted for?As the allocation of subject combination is criteria-based, students who are not allocated what they opted for, will be allocated the next combination automatically. Students will be able to submit an Appeal Form to the General Office during the appeal period to change their combination, if need be.
As I am only interested in doing SC3 (e.g. Triple Science and 1 Humanity), why do I need to indicate a second Humanity subject during the submission process?All students will need to indicate a second Humanity subject. In the event they are not allocated SC3, they will be allocated the next combination (e.g. Double Science) automatically, in which they are required to do two Humanities.
How do I find out the results of the allocation of subject combination and appeal (if applicable)?Students will be informed of all results via SLS (All Ears). Please check results and do not assume you will be allocated your first choice. All results will also be displayed on the notice board located outside the HOD Room.
Will I be placed in the same class in Level 3 as my friends, if we are allocated the same subject combination?You may or may not be placed in the same class as your friends in Level 3.
Should I choose to do an 8-subject or 9-subject combination?Students are advised to take into consideration their total curriculum workload in Level 3. This includes their commitment and workload in external academic (e.g. third language) and non-academic areas (e.g. CCA, SLB). All IP students must do a minimum of 8 subjects.
I want to do a double science combination. Should I offer Biology or Physics?Please choose based on your interest and aptitude, and not based solely on your performance at the End-of-Year Examinations. If you do not have any preference, please choose Physics, as the subject opens doors to engineering courses in the polytechnics and universities.
How many students in CHS offer Triple Science?As subject allocation is by merit, the number differs from year to year. In addition, there are students who qualified but chose not to offer Triple Science for various reasons.
How many students in CHS offer Biology / Chemistry?Most students are doing Chemistry / Physics. The number of students who are doing Biology / Chemistry is less than a class on average.
I am on MEP / AEP, what subject is compulsory to offer?Students who are on the MEP / AEP must indicate Higher Music / Higher Art as their second Humanities subject. In other words, these students will need to take 2 Humanities subjects.
