What are Community Based Sentences (CBS)?

Updated by SGCOURTS

The Court will usually order CBS (instead of sentences such as imprisonment or a fine) for selected cases. If CBS is successfully completed, the offender is deemed to have no record of that conviction.

These are examples of CBS orders that can be made by a Court:

  • Mandatory Treatment Order (MTO)

  • Day Reporting Order (DTO)

  • Community Work Order (CWO)

  • Community Service Order (CSO)

  • Short Detention Order (SDO)
