How do I report calls from "Unknown" Caller IDs?
Calls showing as "Unknown" cannot be reported on the ScamShield app since there's no actual number to enter.
For robotic voice calls from unknown numbers, here's what you can do instead:
If you remember any specific details from the call (e.g. what the robotic voice said, any company names mentioned, or instructions given), you can report this as a message instead. Just type out what you heard in the message field; this will help authorities track common scam scripts.
If the call caused you distress or you wish to speak to someone, you can call the ScamShield Helpline at 1799 - our team there will be happy to speak with you and assist you further.
Unfortunately, ScamShield's current reporting system requires an actual phone number to process reports effectively. The app is designed this way because most scam calls do display numbers that can be blocked for other users.

These are some other ways you you can minimise unwanted calls:
Android users: Some Android devices come with built-in scam/spam call protection. Consider enabling Caller ID and Spam Protection via Google’s settings.
iOS users: Consider enabling the ‘Silence Unknown Callers’ feature to automatically silence calls from unknown numbers.
WhatsApp and third-party messaging apps:
Due to privacy and encryption restrictions, ScamShield cannot block scam calls made via apps like WhatsApp or Telegram. However, you can still:Report the number via ScamShield so it can be reviewed and potentially blocked at the cellular level.
Adjust your privacy settings in the messaging app to block unknown callers who aren’t in your contacts.
Overseas calls:
If you’re receiving frequent scam calls from international numbers and don’t usually expect overseas calls, you may want to opt out of international calls through your telco provider (Singtel, StarHub, M1). IMDA also provides more guidance in this press release.
