How many Weighted Assessments are there in a year?
For Secondary 1 to 3 students, there will be 3 Weighted Assessments a year, one in each of Terms 1, 2 and 3. Secondary 4 and 5 students will have 2 Weighted Assessments in Terms 1 and 2.
Why are Weighted Assessments structured during curriculum time?
Just like timetabled lessons, Weighted Assessment are part of the learning process. Structuring them during curriculum time is the most natural and conducive way for students to learn, and it also reduces assessment anxiety.
What happens if my child is unable to sit for a scheduled Weighted Assessment?
For students who are unwell, a medical certificate must be produced. For students who are away for official reasons such as competitions, they will be allowed to reschedule their assessment within 3 school days before or after the paper. For all other cases, the school will consider them on a case-by-case basis.
