With a new licensing regime under the SRHB, does MSF anticipate a drop in the number of operators that will remain in the sector, as well as prospective operators?
We do not expect a drop in operators as our regulatory requirements are reasonable and attainable. Majority of the regulatory requirements under the SRHB build upon existing service models and legislation that SRHs already comply with today. In developing the Bill, we have also considered best practices and approaches adopted by other agencies, such as MOH.
In addition, to support operators in the transition, MSF and NCSS will provide SRHs with a Transition Support Package, which provides funding for SRHs to invest in training and capability building of their staff, as well as to defray associated costs such as the installation of CCTVs in the SRHs, to meet the requirements under the Bill.
