I was retrenched after I had taken my two weeks of Government-Paid Paternity Leave (GPPL). I did not manage to fully take my additional two weeks of GPPL before retrenchment or my employer did not provide me with any additional GPPL. Can I apply for a top-up of Government-Paid Paternity Benefit (GPPB)?

Only fathers who were retrenched before they could finish taking their first two weeks of GPPL are entitled to a GPPB top-up.

However, you may email contactus@profamilyleave.gov.sg to appeal for a GPPB top-up if you were retrenched after you have taken:

  • The first two weeks of GPPL; and

  • Less than two weeks of additional GPPL, or your employer did not provide any additional GPPL.

Each appeal will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
