As an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) holder, what career can I have with MOF?
All eligible job applicants will be considered for appointment. They are selected for appointment into the Civil Service based on objective criteria e.g. qualifications, work experience, job competencies, ability to do the job and other relevant job requirements, that best match the requirements of the position. As such, applicants with ACCA certification would be considered in a whole package with their other qualifications, experience and job competencies for a position.

How do I apply for a career position with Ministry of Finance (MOF)?
You can submit your application through the Careers@Gov website (https://www.careers.gov.sg ) after you have looked through the vacancies within MOF. Alternatively, you can email your updated resume to [email protected].

I am currently an employee of a Ministry. What is the procedure if I am interested in transferring to another Ministry?
You must apply for the transfer to another Ministry, either through your Ministry or department, or directly. The receiving Ministry shall consult your Ministry on your records and the appropriate timing for the release, before seeking approval for the transfer.

If my degree was obtained through distance learning, would that qualify me to apply for positions in the Civil Service?
Candidates with degrees obtained through distance learning, twinning programmes etc. can be considered for employment in the Civil Service, provided such qualifications are awarded by universities which are recognised or accredited by their home governments. In the case of professional qualifications, they must also be acceptable for registration by the relevant professional bodies in Singapore.

Is there a list of approved universities and bodies for people applying for jobs with MOF?
Currently MOF does not maintain a list of universities and bodies that are deemed to be recognised from the Ministry's point of view. For degree programmes offered by foreign universities, the general guideline for appointment into Civil Service is that as long as the degrees are accredited by the respective home governments, they are acceptable for employment.

Overseas diplomas and other local diplomas should be of similar standard and rigour as the diplomas from local polytechnics. Once foreign diploma qualifications are determined to be acceptable for diploma jobs in the Civil Service, they would be acceptable qualifications for various jobs which require polytechnic diploma as the entry qualifications.

In the case of a professional qualification, it must also be acceptable for registration by relevant professional bodies in Singapore.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply about 3-6 months from the graduation date. Applicants can refer to the Careers@Gov website for the updated list of vacancies within MOF. The website is https://www.careers.gov.sg .

Would MOF conduct cross reference should there be a candidate who is currently employed by one of the ministries or statutory board?
Yes, Ministries will conduct cross-references with the Statutory Board/Ministry when processing applications from serving Statutory Board/Civil Service officers.
