Foreign lawyers currently or previously registered with the Legal Services Regulatory Authority (LSRA) (or the Attorney-General Chambers' Legal Profession Secretariat prior to 18 November 2015) may apply to the LSRA for a Certificate of Good Standing (CoGS).
Singapore solicitors, including those currently or previously registered under section 36E (previously section 130N) of the Legal Profession Act should apply to the Supreme Court of Singapore for a Certificate of Good Standing or the Law Society of Singapore for a Certificate of Standing.
If the foreign lawyer is currently registered with the LSRA, to request a CoGS from the LSRA, the law practice should submit an update application via LSRA e-Services. Log in to LSRA e-Services using SingPass and select relevant UEN/Entity ID (if applicable), look for the lawyer's existing registration in my Dashboard, and choose 'Update' under the 'Action' tab. In the application, please indicate the request for a CoGS.
If the foreign lawyer is currently not registered with the LSRA, please submit the request via Contact Us @ OneMinLaw with the information set out on our webpage: Request a Certificate of Good Standing.
Requests for CoGS may take around 3 to 6 weeks to process, commencing when all required supporting documents and information have been received. After we have processed your request, we will contact you with instructions to pay the fee of SGD150.
Please note that the LSRA only issues electronic Certificates of Good Standing.
