The interim card for APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) will bear fewer economy codes compared to the final card as not all economies would have granted clearance when the interim card is issued. Your entry to the economies (not listed in the interim card) will be subject to their prevailing requirements, which may include the application for an entry visa.

The interim card will also have a different document number from the final card.

The conditions of use of the interim card is no different from the final card i.e.:

  • Cardholders are required to carry a valid passport that tallies with the passport details listed on the card;
  • It remains the right of each economy to determine who may travel to, enter and remain in that economy even after a person has been issued with the ABTC. Normal immigration, customs and entry conditions otherwise apply during a visit to a participating economy.
