Why do I need to see the doctor when I’m not sick?

Updated by HEALTHIERSG

Having an annual Healthier SG check-in with your Healthier SG enrolled doctor even when you are not sick allows your doctor to support your overall health and well-being holistically, such as by ensuring that you are up-to-date with your Healthier SG screening tests and vaccinations* and providing guidance on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It also enables the doctor to identify potential health issues early to prevent them from developing into more serious conditions. Through regular visits, you can deepen your relationship with your family doctor, which can lead to better understanding of your individual health needs, history and goals.

*Eligible Singapore Citizens will enjoy subsidised screening tests and vaccinations at polyclinics and CHAS GP clinics, while eligible Permanent Residents enjoy subsidised screening tests and vaccinations at polyclinics. In addition, eligible Singapore Citizens who are enrolled with Healthier SG will enjoy special subsidies at their enrolled Healthier SG clinic.

Screening test eligibility is determined based on an individual’s age, sex, pre-existing conditions and last health screening date.

Vaccination eligibility is determined based on an individual’s age, sex, pre-existing medical conditions and vaccination history.
