I'm having trouble setting up the Singpass app on my Xiaomi device (encountering error code 83-T991) after a recent OS update. What should I do?

We are aware of a technical issue (error code 83-T991) affecting some Xiaomi devices after recent OS updates. This error prevents the app from working properly during setup. We are working on a fix to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

In the meantime, please try these troubleshooting tips:

  • Make sure your app is updated to the latest version

  • Update your OS and PlayStore/AppGallery if any updates are available

  • Re-install the app, reboot your phone, turn off any VPN, and try onboarding again right after reboot

Alternatively, you can continue accessing digital services with Singpass through your web browser:

  1. Open your browser (Chrome, Safari, etc.)

  2. Go to the digital service website

  3. Log in with your username, password, and Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
