Updated by SGCOURTS

A fine is a monetary penalty imposed on you by the Court. Fines are payable in full immediately after sentencing. If you are unable to pay the fine in full, you may ask the Court for your fine to be paid by instalments. This is subject to the Court’s approval. If you are unable to pay the fine at all or by the due date given by the Court, you may have to serve an imprisonment term decided by the Court.

Please refer to the Judiciary’s website for more information on the types of sentences: https://www.judiciary.gov.sg/criminal/types-sentences
