What happens if I decide to plead guilty at the Mentions Courts?
If you decide to plead guilty (PG) at the Mentions Court, the following will typically happen:
Hear the Case for PG: For certain types of cases, the Mentions Court may hear the case, decide on whether you are guilty of the offence, and pass sentence.
Transfer to Sentencing Court: If the case cannot be concluded at the Mentions Court, it will usually be transferred to a Sentencing Court (commonly referred to as the PG Courts). Your next hearing will be referred to as the PG Mention for you to plead guilty.
Notification of Next Hearing: The Mentions Court will inform you of the next date, time, and venue for your PG Mention.
