What are the Criminal Mentions Courts?
Mentions Courts are the first courts where an accused person in a criminal case must personally attend to be formally charged for an offence and to give their plea, whether guilty or not guilty. These include both Day Mentions Courts and Night Mentions Courts (Night Courts). The Mentions Court that you are required to attend is stated on the Notice, Summons or Bail Bond issued to you. It will also state the date and time you are required to appear in Court.
