Updated by SEAB

Special consideration (SC) is a well-established procedure which awards the following candidates with projected grades through a fair and rigorous evidence-based methodology. It considers the following in the grading process for candidates who:

* Sat their examinations under adverse circumstances and whose performance in the examination may be affected (e.g. illness or bereavement), or
* Were absent from their examinations due to valid reasons (e.g. illness)

All SC applications are assessed on each case’s merit and subjected to a rigorous review process, to ensure that the grades awarded are as accurate and fair as possible.

* This is also provided you have:

  • Completed at least 50% of the component weightage for the affected subject for GCE-Level examination subjects; and

  • Have the relevant information and supporting documents to support your application

The percentage weightage of your affected GCE-Level subject’s components can be found in the subject’s examination syllabus document.
