If I can’t take screenshots in a suspicious Telegram group, how should I report the scam?

We recommend for you to delete and exit the Telegram group/ channel immediately, as well as block the suspicious sender(s) and report them directly to Telegram. In this case, Telegram will be better equipped to deal with their malicious users.

Please also report the phone number and/or Sender ID of these suspicious senders (where available) directly on the ScamShield app. This action will escalate the suspicious senders to the authorities for investigation.

While we understand that some Telegram groups have screenshot restrictions, there are two alternative ways you can report the scam messages:

  1. You can copy and paste the message text directly when making your report in the ScamShield app.

  2. If the message is too long, you can break it into multiple reports.

For security reasons, we are unable to process screenshots of notifications. This helps ensure the accuracy of our scam detection system.
