Updated by SCAMSHIELD

The ScamShield app is designed to help reduce scam calls and messages using a mix of technology and users' reports. It works a little differently depending on whether you're using an iPhone or Android phone.

For SMS Messages

  • iPhone (iOS): Scam messages are automatically moved to your Junk folder you won’t get a notification. Messages from saved contacts are never filtered.

  • Android: Scam messages stay in your inbox but ScamShield will show a warning notification if it looks suspicious. Messages from saved contacts are not flagged.

For Phone Calls

  • iPhone (iOS): Calls from known scam numbers are blocked using a known scam list. To stay updated, open the app regularly to refresh the blocklist.

  • Android: ScamShield checks incoming calls in real-time and blocks them if they match known scam patterns.

Other Features (All Phones)

  • You can check if a phone number/ Sender ID, message, or website link is a known scam using our "Check" function, and report new ones to help protect others.

  • You can report suspicious phone numbers/ Sender IDs, messages, or website links using our "Submit a Scam Report" function. Phone numbers, messages and links that are reported will be escalated to authorities for review. If they are deemed suspicious, ScamShield will block the phone numbers and links for all ScamShield users.

If you come across a scam, report it in the ScamShield app. Every report helps keep others safe!
