Can the social service practitioners, social workers, social service volunteers, and/or funeral directors download the digital death certificate for a deceased person with no next-of-kin (e.g. single elderly)?
For deceased with no immediate Next-of-Kin, social workers or Funeral Directors assisting in the post-death matters can approach the hospital or certifying doctor for a hardcopy printout of the death certificate.
Only Next-of-Kin of the deceased or persons authorised by the Next-of-Kin are allowed to download a copy of the digital death certificate from My Legacy. The Next-of-Kin for this purpose are: spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, grandchild, aunt/uncle and niece/nephew.
