The compounding is intended to prevent negligence in fulfilling religious obligations, particularly for those who deliberately abandon a duty without a valid excuse, or those who intentionally postpone making up a missed fast despite being aware of the prohibition.

However, if the delay in making up the fast is due to a valid excuse, such as ongoing travel, illness, or breastfeeding until the following year, then compounding the fidyah is not required for them.

If someone still wishes to pay compounded fidyah voluntarily, there is no objection in doing so.
