As a platform worker receiving CPF contributions, how is my Government-Paid Leave Schemes (GPLS) claim calculated and how do I submit it?

Updated by MSF

Platform workers receiving CPF contributions should submit their claim as a self-employed person via the GPL Portal. How your claim is calculated depends on whether you are claiming under a leave scheme or a benefit scheme.

If you are claiming under a leave scheme

Leave schemes include Government-Paid Maternity Leave (GPML), and Government-Paid Paternity Leave (GPPL) and Shared Parental Leave (SPL).

Your claim amount, including CPF contributions made by your platform operator(s), is calculated based on your Notice of Assessment (NOA) for the year in which your first leave date falls. If that NOA is not yet available at the time of submission, the most recent available NOA from up to two years prior will be used instead.

The CPF contribution component is computed based on contributions made during the same period as the relevant NOA. The table below illustrates how this works for a platform worker whose leave first starts in 2025:

Scenario

Year income was earned

NOA used for computation of GPLS payment

Period of CPF contributions made by platform operator (PO)

NOA for the leave year is available

2025

NOA 2026

Jan 2025 to Dec 2025

NOA for 2025 is unavailable

2024

NOA 2025

N/A — no CPF contributions from PO in 2024

NOA for 2025 and 2024 are both unavailable

2023

NOA 2024

N/A — no CPF contributions from PO in 2023

If you are claiming under a benefit scheme

Benefit schemes include Government-Paid Maternity Benefit (GPMB), Government-Paid Paternity Benefit (GPPB), Government-Paid Adoption Benefit (GPAB), and Shared Parental Benefit (SPB).

Your claim amount is based on your total income earned during the 12 months immediately before your child's date of birth or Formal Intent to Adopt (FIA) date. This includes CPF contributions made by your platform operator(s) during that period. When filling in your income details, include these CPF contributions under your platform worker income.
