Are public holidays included in 'Leave Days' for Government-Paid Leave (GPL) claim submissions?
It depends on whether your leave was taken continuously or non-continuously.
If leave was taken continuously (in one block), include public holidays that fall on your normal working days within the leave period. For example, if you took Adoption Leave in weeks 11–12 and a public holiday fell on a Tuesday (a normal working day), that day should be included.
If leave was taken non-continuously (flexibly, with breaks between leave days), only include public holidays on which you actually took leave. For example, if you work in retail and normally work on public holidays, only count a public holiday if you specifically took leave on that day.
Note that the first 8 weeks of Government-Paid Maternity Leave (GPML) and Adoption Leave (AL) must be taken in one continuous block.
