I consumed 12 weeks of maternity leave under the Employment Act before my child obtained Singapore citizenship. How many additional weeks of Government-Paid Maternity Leave (GPML) am I entitled to?

Updated by MSF

Eligible working mothers are entitled to up to 16 weeks of GPML in total. If you have already consumed 12 weeks of maternity leave under the Employment Act (EA) before your child obtained Singapore citizenship, you are entitled to an additional 4 weeks of GPML once citizenship is approved.

Note that the remaining GPML can only be taken from the date your child obtains Singapore citizenship, and must be consumed within 12 months of your child's date of birth (inclusive of the date of birth).
