Eligible working mothers are entitled to up to 16 weeks of Government-Paid Maternity Leave (GPML). We note that prior to the approval of your child's citizenship, you have consumed 12 weeks of maternity leave, as per your entitlement under the Employment Act (EA). Hence, after your child has obtained Singapore citizenship, you are entitled to 4 weeks of GPML.

We wish to highlight that GPML can only be consumed after your child obtains Singapore citizenship and within 12 months from your child's date of birth (inclusive of date of birth).
