I am in the process of divorce and caring for my child. How can I change the Child Development Account (CDA) trustee from my spouse to myself?
Based on the Child Development Co-Savings Act (CDCA), the parent who has care and control of the child shall be the CDA trustee. If you are caring for your child and wish to change the trustee, you may either:
(i) work with your spouse (current CDA trustee) to submit the change request through their internet banking app or the bank's online portal where the CDA is held; or
(ii) submit a copy of the Court Order on care and control of the child through go.gov.sg/contact-bb to request for the change of trustee.
As your child's CDA will be closed on 31 Dec of the year your child turns 12, the CDA trustee must submit the request before 15 Dec of the same year.
To ensure the change is processed in time, please submit the request as early as possible before the deadline.
