When can a mother start using her Government-Paid Childcare Leave (GPCL) in relation to her Government-Paid Maternity Leave (GPML)?

Updated by MSF

If Government-Paid Maternity Leave (GPML) is taken continuously, the mother will only be able to utilise her Government-Paid Childcare Leave (GPCL) after she has completed her full GPML.

If GPML is taken non-continuously and the first 8 weeks have been utilised, the mother can start to utilise her GPCL, if she wishes to. The leave dates taken for both schemes should not overlap.
