What is the penalty for violating a Counselling Order or a Mandatory Treatment Order?

Under Section 60E (10), the respondent who contravenes a counselling order, without reasonable excuse, shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $2000.


Under Section 60F (31), a person who contravenes (a) a mandatory treatment order; or (b) an order under subsection (7)(a) or (10) shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $2000.


*(7)(a) Court may order the person causing harm to attend before the specified psychiatrist at the times and places required by the specified psychiatrist

(10) Court may order person causing harm to reside in a psychiatric institution for observation for one or more periods (each not exceeding 3 weeks) as the court thinks fit
