Will the free morning off-peak rail travel in the north-east region lead to higher fares?
The Government will fully fund these schemes to encourage commuters who are able to travel during off-peak periods to do so. The schemes are separate from fare adjustments announced by the Public Transport Council, which is based on a formula, so your bus and train fares will not be affected by the introduction of this initiative.
