I am the parent of a non-Singapore citizen child. Am I eligible for shared parental leave?
No. Your child must be a Singapore citizen to qualify for shared parental leave. Your own citizenship status does not affect eligibility.
However, if your child becomes a Singapore citizen within 12 months of birth, you will be eligible for shared parental leave if you meet all other eligibility criteria.
Note: Shared parental leave will have to be consumed within 12 months of the child’s birth.
