If my employer gives an unreasonable justification for rejecting my flexible work arrangement (FWA) request, can I make a complaint against them?
You are strongly encouraged to discuss and resolve disagreements on FWAs with your employer through internal grievance handling mechanisms. If you are unionised, you can approach your union for advice.
If your employer rejects your formal FWA request and indicates reasons that are not business-related, you can approach TAFEP for assistance since it is a potential TG-FWAR breach. TAFEP will advise the employer to review the request in accordance with the TG-FWAR.
