What will happen to my trust moneys if I do not claim it immediately after I reach my age of majority?

You will receive a letter before you reach your age of majority (18 or 21 years old). If you do not claim your trust moneys after you reach age of majority, the Public Trustee's Office will treat your moneys as unclaimed moneys until you come forward to claim it.

Status of your moneys

Your unclaimed moneys are protected:

  • Your moneys remain safe and secure with the Public Trustee's Office

  • No fees are deducted for keeping your moneys unclaimed

  • Your moneys do not expire - you can claim it at any time

 

What you need to claim your moneys

You can submit the required documents to us via e-Services at https://go.gov.sg/pto :

If you are a Singaporean with a local bank account:

  • Bank account passbook / bank account statement or PayNow

 

If you are a foreigner with a local bank account:

  • Your Identification Card that you used to open the bank account

  • Front page of your personal bank account passbook or bank account statement

 

If you are living overseas and for us to pay the moneys to you via telegraphic transfer:

  • Your Identification Card that you used to open the bank account

  • Front page of your personal bank account passbook or bank account statement showing:

    -Bank account number

    -Sort code of the bank

    -Swift code of the bank

    -Name of the bank and bank branch (if any)

    -Address of the bank

    -Your preferred currency for payment

    -Your overseas residential address

 

Important things to know

  • There are no fees or penalties for claiming your moneys late

  • Family members cannot claim for you

  • Keep your contact details updated (address and email)
