How to check if Deceased's CPF monies have been transferred to the Public Trustee's Office
If someone passed away, his / her CPF moneys may be forwarded to the Public Trustee for distribution to the beneficiary if it was not nominated. Here's how to check if this has happened.
What happens to un-nominated CPF moneys
Un-nominated CPF moneys means CPF savings which the Deceased did not choose who should receive the moneys. When someone passed away, the CPF Board will forward these moneys to the Public Trustee for distribution to the beneficiary according to intestacy law.
Timeline for transfer
Upon receiving notification of the death of the CPF member, they typically require 17 working days to transfer the un-nominated CPF moneys to the Public Trustee’s Office.
How you will be notified
The next of kin will be notified by post.
How to check if the transfer has happened
Option 1: Wait for the notification letter
The Public Trustee's Office will out a letter to the next of kin once they receive the CPF moneys from CPF Board.
Option 2: Contact the Public Trustee's Office directly
If the next of kin did not receive the notification after 6 weeks of Deceased’s death, you may contact the Public Trustee's Office via:
