How do I know if my loved one has any CPF monies and if they had made a valid nomination?
The monies from the CPF Board of a person who has died will be distributed in line with the nomination they made during their lifetime.
You will need to check with the CPF Board whether the person had made a valid nomination for their CPF monies. If they had, the CPF Board will pay the monies direct to the nominee if they are above 18 years old.
If there is no valid nomination, the CPF Board will send the un-nominated CPF monies to the Public Trustee, as required by law.
The CPF Board will also send to the Public Trustee the nominated CPF monies of a person under 18 years old (unless she is a widow).

CPF Board has notified me that the deceased's un-nominated CPF monies will be forwarded to the Public Trustee but a check with the Public Trustee reveals that there are no CPF monies in the case account.
