What do I need to update if our law practice has a change of Managing Partner/Director?

If there is a change of Managing Partner/Director,

For Singapore law practices entities:

  • Please file a 'Notice of Change of Particulars' via eLitigation system on the appointments of the Singapore solicitors.

  • Thereafter, please update your licence particulars (the Managing Partner/Director section and the substantive appointments of the previous and new Managing Partners/Directors in the Lawyers section) via LSRA e-Services.

For foreign law practice entities:

  • If the new Managing Partner/Director does not have a Certificate of Registration ("CoR"), the law practice should apply via LSRA e-Services for a CoR for him/her, and indicate in the application form that the Registrant is the Managing Partner/Director.

  • If the new Managing Partner/Director has an existing CoR, the law practice should apply to update the CoR of the new Managing Partner/Director, indicating in the application form that the Registrant is the Managing Partner/Director, and updating his/her substantive appointment and job title.

  • The law practice should concurrently apply to update the CoR of the previous Managing Partner/Director on his/her substantive appointment and job title, or terminate the CoR, as applicable.

  • If and when the updates to the CoRs are approved, the law practice's licence record (the Managing Partner/Director section) will be automatically updated.
