Why must I pay a contribution amount before being granted aid?

Updated by MLAW
  • To foster greater ownership over your legal case, you are required to make a small financial contribution to the Public Defender's Office.

  • The contribution amount is based on your financial eligibility, and will be made known to you when you are informed of the application outcome.

  • You will only be granted aid and assigned a Public Defender, after you pay the contribution amount.
