How much contribution towards legal aid will I be required to pay?

The total contribution usually does not exceed $1,650, but it may be more in some cases. You will usually be asked to pay a first instalment before any work is started on your case and a second instalment after your case has been completed.

We will usually start representing you in Court only after you have paid your first contribution.

If your case is assigned to an Assigned Solicitor, you will not need to pay the Assigned Solicitor's bill. However, if you receive a judgment or settlement sum in your case, LAB will be required to withhold certain amounts from this sum from you, which includes an amount representing the Assigned Solicitor's bill.
