Is my employer required to grant me off-in-lieu if a public holiday falls within the period of my ORNS activity?

Updated by MINDEF

Employers are not required to grant employees off-in-lieu (OIL) for public holidays that falls within the period of ORNS activity, as NSmen will be paid NS Pay for the entire duration of ORNS activity, inclusive of public holidays. Depending on their internal HR policy, employers may at their own discretion grant their employees OIL, but any cost arising from the granting of OIL is not claimable from MINDEF.
