Am I required to grant my employee off-in-lieu if a public holiday falls within the period of his ORNS activity?
You are not required to grant employees off-in-lieu (OIL) for public holidays that fall within the period of ORNS activity, as NSmen will be paid NS Pay for the entire duration of ORNS activity, inclusive of public holidays. You may, at your own discretion, grant employees OIL, but any cost arising from the granting of OIL is not claimable from MINDEF.
