My company is not based in Singapore and my NSman employee works overseas. My NSman employee took paid leave to return to Singapore to attend his ORNS activity. Is he eligible for MUP?

Updated by MINDEF

If upon receiving the SAF100, your NSmen employee informs you of his ORNS activity and arranges for paid time-off or leave with you to return to Singapore, he is not eligible for MUP.

The intent of MUP is to ensure that NSmen do not incur a loss in civilian income when they attend ORNS activities.

If your NSman employee is paid for the duration of his ORNS activity, he will only be paid Service Pay and not MUP.
