Can I claim MUP for a new NSman employee whose MUP was not automated due to the lack of CPF data?
You are eligible to claim MUP for your NSman employee’s ORNS activity as he is employed during his ORNS activity.
Please submit a MUP claim on the “Employee Payment Management” eService on the OneNS Portal. You will need to attach supporting documents such as your NSman employee’s payslip for the month of his ORNS activity.
If your company is registered with the DIRECT scheme, please continue to pay your NSman employee what you would normally pay him per your regular pay schedule, as though he had not been away for ORNS activity. This amount should include their full basic salaries and fixed allowance components that he is eligible for, as well as the additional payments (e.g., overtime pay) or variable payments (e.g., commissions) typically paid to him on a monthly basis. MINDEF will reimburse the MUP claim amount to your company.
If your company is not registered with the DIRECT scheme, you should deduct your employee’s salary based on the amount of time he was away from work due to ORNS activity. MINDEF will reimburse the MUP claim amount directly to him.
