Why did the system deduct 1 day leave for my 0.5 day leave application on Christmas eve?

0.5-day leave taken on the eve of the 5 major public holidays; New Year’s Day, Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Hari Raya Puasa and Christmas Day will be deducted as a full-day leave based on policy guidelines stipulated in the GOM below:
