What situations will the Public Order and Security (Special Powers) Act (POSSPA) be applied to?

The Public Order and Security (Special Powers) Act (POSSPA) will be applied to serious incidents, which is defined in the Act as the carrying out of: - A terrorist act; - An act of serious violence affecting the public; or - An act causing large scale public disorder. POSSPA will not be invoked for peaceful public order situations where there is no threat to lives and public safety.
