Are qualifying grantmakers under the lighter-touch regime allowed to conduct fund-raising appeals?

A grantmaker registered under the lighter-touch regime will need to be solely funded by an individual, family or institution (whether corporate or not). As it has to be funded with private monies, no form of private or public fund-raising appeal is permissible. Notwithstanding this, a grantmaker may accept donations from other private sources so long as no appeal for funds were made to these parties.
